BUTTE, Mont. AP - Is Barack Obama close to being shadowed by giant flip-flops and, worse, having the image stick with people all the way to the voting booth?

Obama said his overall problem is that he was incorrectly tagged to begin with as being a product solely of his party’s left wing, so that statements displaying a broad ideological range are portrayed as shifts when they are not. “When I simply describe what has been my position consistently, then suddenly people act surprised,” he lamented earlier this week.

Four years ago, Republicans branded as a “flip-flop” even the slightest rhetorical or policy change by John Kerry and sent huge replicas of the casual sandals to bob around the Massachusetts Democrat’s events, feeding an image of him as a wishy-washy panderer. End.

It’s unbelievable…three Democratic presidential candidates in succession have needless open Pandora’s Box. Both Gore and Kerry were never able to get it closed again and lost. Obama is doing all the right things to join them. Obama said his overall problem is that he was incorrectly tagged to begin with. In other words, the tag that made him the overwhelming choice is no longer good enough? Well, you’ve damn sure lost me. I’ll just not vote and except whichever flip-flopper wins. Without a doubt, Karl Rove and crew are going to get out their brushes and paint Obama three shades blacker and wobbly. The tag of being just another Jimmy Carter is starting to ring truer everyday.

MINNEAPOLIS AP - A college student claimed it was all a joke when he put his vote in this fall’s presidential election up for sale on the Web auction site eBay. But prosecutors didn’t see the humor.

“We take it very seriously. Fundamentally, we believe it is wrong to sell your vote,” said John Aiken, a spokesman for the office. “There are people that have died for this country for our right to vote, and to take something that lightly, to say, ‘I can be bought.’

That’s right you gutless pricks, go after a college student while every damn member of Congress is not only selling their votes to the highest bidder. Congress has, to date, sold the minds, bodies and souls of 4,100 young Americas to big oil. It would be most interesting to see how a damn hypocrite like John Aiken would handle it if students and their parents from one end of Minnesota to the other put their votes up for sale. Hell, this guy might even start a trend all across the United States.

Aiken, since you used our troops as fodder, what branch of our military did you serve in? I’m betting you’ve never had on a uniform. It’s usually butt holes who haven’t served that do the talking. Yeah, I know, you’re just doing your job. John is a perfect name for you.

It’s amazing how Democratic presidential candidates keep making the same mistake over and over again of trying to be all things to all people. These fence-walking, see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil tactics cost both Gore and Kerry the elections. Obama started out saying he’d bring the troops home and end the war. Now that the slaughtering has stopped for a few days, he’s trying to create some wiggle room only to make himself look weak. That’s like manna from heaven to the McCain campaign now in the hands of ruthless Karl Rove.

Instead of embracing the absolute truth about the impostor, John McCain, as told by one who knows him well, Gen Wesley Clark, Obama ran from the truth and left a real hero to stand alone. Karl Rove was right in his comparison of Obama to Jimmy Carter. The Fundamentalist Carter wanted to be everyone’s friend and ended up getting crucified.

I had high hopes for Obama, but he’s looking weaker and weaker as the days goes by. This chance of having a Democratic-controlled Congress and Oval Office was not earned by anything the Democrats have done, but by what the habitual lying, mass murderer George W. Bush has done. It’ll not be an easy election to lose, Obama, but you can do it if you keep giving Karl Rove nails to hang his picture of you as being an all-talk and no substance candidate. Karl Rove’s job is getting easier by the word.

I just love the way McCain and his supporters talk about him refusing to leave his buddies as a POW. First, he didn’t have any American buddies because he made propaganda tapes. His buddies were his jailers. Second, Article III of the United States Military Code of Conduct states, If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

Not from day one did John McCain comply with Article III of the United States Military Code of Conduct. I was shot down twice and have zero respect for this dipshit. Everyone had better listen to Gen. Wesley Clark about this imposter.

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has revised its policy for recruits who must get waivers for past bad behavior, but officials stopped short of eliminating waiver requirements for petty crimes, The Associated Press has learned.

Roughly half of Marine recruits require waivers to join, largely because more than a third of recruits require a waiver for previous drug use.

Officials have now decided to create four waiver categories for major misconduct, misconduct, traffic offenses and non-traffic offenses. Under the new policy, each branch of the armed forces will set its own guidelines on what behavior requires a waiver, as long as it can assign each offense to one of the four categories.

Considering how U.S. troops have pillaged, raped, and murdered women and children in Iraq, the four categories might read like this:

1. No convicted serial killers.
2. No one who has been convicted of molesting a child under the age of three (Clergy exception).
3. No one who has opposed America’s Auschwitz–Abu Ghraib.
4. No one who has or knows someone who has voiced dissatisfaction with Bush or Cheney.

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt - Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe will not step down and Western critics who called the country’s recent election a sham can “go hang,” the longtime ruler’s spokesman said Tuesday.

Leaders at the AU summit have been unwilling to publicly criticize Mugabe, and instead are gently pushing behind the scenes that he accept some sort of power-sharing agreement with Zimbabwe’s opposition.

The Americans and British have been kissing this mass murderer, Mugabe’s butt for years, but why not, George W. Here’s McCain who claims to have been tortured when other POWs, and even his jailer, are saying he was never tortured, talking about trust. Here’s McCain who has flip flopped on every issue since becoming the nominee, talking about trust. Here’s McCain whose wife even plagiarizes cookie recipes, talking about trust.

Gen. Wesley Clark had this to say about McCain the imposter. “He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee. And he has traveled all over the world. But he hasn’t held executive responsibility. That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn’t a wartime squadron. I don’t think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president.”

Hey, you half dead old warmonger, get over the fact that Obama can raise more money over a weekend that you have during your entire campaign. If you push that old worn out body of yours too hard, you might not live until Election Day. That would be too bad because I want to watch Obama winning by one of the largest landslides in the history of American politics. I want to watch Obama send you crawling back to Arizona like Bill Clinton sent your boss, George H.W. Bush, crawling back to Texas. Then again, if you do drop dead, Obama can send Mitt Romney and his three or four wives crawling back to some Mormon sex camp.

Just because the U.S. has removed the word “Communist” from China, doesn’t mean squat. China needs and wants oil, and they will turn on the U.S. and their allies at the drop of a hat, and then you’ll get the war you’ve been asking for. If I lived in the UK, I’d sure take heart knowing Bush said, “We here in the United States have distance as an advantage.” In other words, UK, you’ll be dead before we’ll even know it.

In Las Vegas McCain reiterated his call for building 45 new nuclear power plants by 2030, and a total of 100 at some point beyond that, despite the waste they might generate.

McCain didn’t repeat his recent suggestion that the waste site at Yucca Mountain may be rendered unnecessary if we can find a foreign repository. That comment he made in Texas drew cries of disbelief from critics who accused him of pandering after long supporting Yucca.

So now this old warmongering Republican is not only going to invade Middle East countries to control their oil, he wants to send America’s nuclear waste to foreign countries as well. Good luck on doing that, Mr. Warlord.

Let’s go with your PTSD mind for a moment, John, and say that since Africa is dying of AIDS, it goes along with your plan. What happens when the USS John McCain nuclear waste ship ends up like the Exxon Valdez/Valdese? To hell with the Supreme Court saying it wasn’t the McCain Nuclear Energy Corporation’s fault; the ocean would go from a blue/green to a blood red and kill everything in and around it for ten thousand years.

I was going to send Mr. Obama $500; but in order to save the world from George W. McCain, I’m going tighten my belt and send the maximum allowed–$2,300.

I would like very much to thank you. I wasn’t expecting to hear from you, and most certainly wasn’t expecting you to write an in-depth letter answering my questions. But the biggest surprise of all was you asking my opinion on the status quo knowing I’m gay. Here’s your answer.

I never feel threatened or disgusted when I see two men or two women holding hands in an adoring way, so long as they are considerate of the non-gays who might be present. But I feel extreme fear and nausea on encountering bathroom queers like Senator Larry Craig and mass murderers wearing Christian smiles on their faces and flags in their lapels like George W. Bush and Richard Cheney. But the worst feeling of all is the apathy I feel on hearing that a Bush/Cheney supporter lost a loved one in Iraq. That a tornado or flood wiped out everything they had worked for all their lives. While it’s abundantly clear they take no responsibility for the lives they’ve destroyed, I lay it right at their doorstep and say, ‘Serves you right hypocrite.’ I’m I wrong?

Are you wrong? I’m sure Larry Craig, Bush and Cheney, and their supporters would unanimously agree that you’re wrong. I, on the other hand, feel about these people you mentioned as I did a religious nut I worked with. He showed up on my porch one day and said that he had decided to kill himself, but didn’t have a gun. He asked to borrow mine. I went inside, put two shells in a double barrel shotgun and gave it to him. He pulled both hammers back, put it in his mouth and pulled both triggers. I called the cops and, after they got what was left of this guy off my porch, I washed it down. I then took my wife out to lunch and a movie. Came home and made love. BAGHDAD - Iraqi police officials say at least 51 people were killed in a car bombing in a mainly Shiite section of Baghdad.

Judging how the senior white women and the uneducated whites voted in the primaries, they don’t have a problem with staying in Iraq. Both McCain and Hillary voted for the war and then voted several times to fund it so Bush could keep on keeping on.

As I see it, you can’t blame the uneducated white males for not voting for an African American and risk not getting to wear that silly looking Shiner’s hat or loosing their membership in the local Elks or Moose club. Not to mention that most of them are or have been members of the KKK as well, especially in Pennsylvania and in the Bible belt. For these guys it would be a double whammy. And since women gave birth to these kids who’ll be fighting the war, they certainly have the right, as far as I’m concerned, to send them into harms way regardless of the fact that the Iraq War is about commerce, not establishing democracy. Personally, I’m hoping McCain wins because there’s nothing but commercials on television and Hollywood hasn’t turned out a decent love story in years. So watching Muslims and Christians blow each other’s brains out on the news is about the only thing worth doing in South Florida in the summer.
