Home Grown Fascists

It’s amazing how neo-conservatives will label you a liberal the moment you disagree even slightly with them. Being a Republican and having a large website, I am asked almost daily, “Why are most Republicans so belligerent and arrogant?”

There have been several studies done on this subject. I’ve read at least three such studies done by leaders in the field of social behavior and, without exception, the conclusion has been “Fascist Mentality”. The fascist concept of the State is all-embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value.

No one in American politics fits the term fascist better than George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, convicted Iran-Contra perjurer Elliot Abrams, Paul Wolfowitz and I. Lewis Libby. These are seven egomaniacs who have done irreparable harm to the United States. Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz have to some extent, duplicated Heinrich Himmler’s evil.

Here are the words of three other Republican fascists who helped elect George W. Bush.

James Kennedy said: “People who are concerned about the influence of Christianity have never really surrendered their life to God and submitted themselves to his commandments–and if they did, they wouldn’t have so much concern about some court saying again that it’s wrong,” he said. Asked about the millions of Americans who are not Christian, or have a different interpretation of Christianity, Kennedy said with a laugh: “I couldn’t care less.”

Jerry Falwell said: “Billy Graham is the chief servant of Satan in America.” - “Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions.” - “It is God’s planet - and he’s taking care of it. And I don’t believe that anything we do will raise or lower the temperature one point.” - “Textbooks are Soviet propaganda.” “I am such a strong admirer and supporter of George W. Bush that if he suggested eliminating the income tax or doubling it, I would vote yes on first blush.” - “I hope I live to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we won’t have any public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them. What a happy day that will be!”

Pat Robertson writes, “It is possible that a demon prince is in charge of New York, Detroit, St. Louis, or any other city.” He argues that not only “Satanists” but also “fortunetellers, spiritualists, witches and warlocks” are “themselves consumed by Satan”; that séances, Ouija boards, transcendental meditation (an invocation of “names of Hindu gods”) and even the game Dungeons and Dragons are all “potential sources of demon possession.” Robertson also recalls that on one occasion, while in the Seattle-Tacoma area, an “awful depression seized me” and “I realized I was under demonic attack”–although Robertson relates he was able to defeat this attack by declaring: “Satan, in the name of Jesus, I cast you forth.” This is the same Pat Robertson who writes: “When you look at the holy books of “other” religions, you find fantasy and bizarre supernatural events that do not commend themselves to reasonable people.

Interesting Video but a bit long in my opinion.
